Our Story

Ross and Sally Telfer started off in a business in 2006 creating Garden City Skips, with a goal of establishing a family skip hire business, that was focussed on the customer and their needs.  Being reliable, efficient and affordable were, and still, are the essence of this business.

As the industry changed so did the business, ensuring all waste was catered for, with various skip sizes to accommodate the domestic and commercial markets.  The fleet has always been regularly updated along with fresh faces and ideas.  Son, Logan Telfer, joined the family business in 2018 bringing his background in engineering to forefront.  Ross and Sally had taken the business on an exceptional journey and had built a loyal customer base as well as strong ties with Fahey Fence Hire since 2015.

In 2019, Fahey Fence Hire couldn’t overlook the benefits of adding this business to their growing offering, together with the timing of Ross and Sally’s new business opportunities in Northland, Fahey acquired a majority share of the business.  Under the continued management and familiar face of Logan Telfer, Fahey Skip and Waste was born.
